On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 14 at 4:00 p.m. a teleconference was held with the well-known Pathologist-Infectious Diseases Specialist Dr. Drossos Karageorgopoulos, on the burning issue of COVID-19.
Mr. Karageorgopoulos explained in a clear and understandable way the characteristics of coronavirus, how it affects the diseased organism, as well as the degree of contagion, a fact that increases its risk. He said eradicating the virus is not an easy task, stressing the need to focus on protecting vulnerable groups and referring to the effectiveness of preventive measures in spreading the virus.
Mr. Karageorgopoulos answered the numerous questions of the participants willingly and honestly and closed by saying: “We must be neither too optimistic nor too pessimistic.”
We warmly thank Mr. Karageorgopoulos for his positive response to our invitation and for dedicating much of his valuable time.
We wish him well and good luck in his work.
