On Friday 3 June we had the pleasure of welcoming to the Library the 1st Class of the 3rd Primary School of Kalambaka. Our little friends were guided through all the areas of the Library, were informed about the operating rules, the services and activities they can participate in throughout the year.
The children also had the opportunity to visit the anniversary exhibition “Woodcarving remembers 1821”, where they identified all the portraits of the heroes and saw the beauty of the art of woodcarving. Afterwards, they had the opportunity to get involved with the WeDo 2.0 robotics training programme and build their own robots, giving them an early introduction to the world of programming. Then, they played educational games on the interactive whiteboard, specially designed for first graders, and familiarised themselves with the space and the children’s collection by reading favourite titles.
The children understood the importance of being part of their local library and promised to visit again soon!
