The children’s film “Encanto” was screened at the Kalambaka Library on Tuesday 12 July. The Oscar-winning Best Animated Feature Film won the interest of our young friends, who enjoyed the spectacular universe of the Colombian Madrigal family, which has a matriarchal structure and leads a small Colombian society that has been driven from its ancestral land and has found a new home in the village of Encanto.
From its first release, Encanto, which means “magic spell” in Spanish, has gained the acceptance of viewers for its symbolism, music, animation, voice, emotional depth and cultural elements. It was also singled out for its “magical realism” and has been nominated for awards for its original songs.
