The Kalambaka Library expresses its deepest sorrow and grief for the sudden loss of astrophysicist and honorary director of the Eugenides Planetarium Dionysis Simopoulos.
We had the honour of hosting Dionysis Simopoulos twice and he shared with us his knowledge of the magical and enigmatic world of the sky and the unknown that surrounds us.
Dionysis Simopoulos has been a leading astrophysicist awarded for his contribution to astronomical education, with significant writing and journalistic activity in the press, television and multimedia shows and as a scriptwriter for news programmes.
Mr. Simopoulos is gone, as the stars are gone, while he is gone, for us he will continue to be present and “visible”.
