The established annual meeting of the Advisory Board of the Kalambaka Library took place on Tuesday, February 24th. The purpose of the meeting was to review the activities of the past year and to set both long-term and short-term goals for the current year.
It is generally accepted that the year 2020 was a special year, with many upheavals on an individual and social level. The appearance of covid and the imposition of measures of social distancing, changed the way of life for everyone. Of course, the operation of the Library could not remain unaffected, which is reflected in the overall picture of its activities.
The first part of the meeting included issues related to the immediate adaptation of the Library to the new data imposed by the spread of the pandemic, the actions taken to continue the Library’s programs, without affecting their smooth flow and the degree of public response. , while in the second part the goals for 2021 were presented. It is auspicious fact that, in the middle of quarantine, the Library not only kept in touch with its readers, but managed to reach an audience from all over Greece. Using the digital Zoom platform and fiber optic technology, which offers higher connection speeds, it has developed its network of contacts.
In addition, the priorities of the Library were re-evaluated, while the development of new collaborations and the strengthening of extroversion were the core of the planning of actions for 2021.
The members of the Advisory Committee, consisting of the President of the Library, Mrs. Katerina Dimoula, the Vice President Mr. Apostolos Iliopoulos, Mrs. Connie Mourtoupalas, Cultural Attaché of the Greek Embassy in the USA, the author Mr. Vangelis Iliopoulos, as well as representatives of the Municipality of Meteora and the educational community, expressed their satisfaction with the course of the Library, while submitting their ideas and advice to improve the services provided and develop new ones.
