In an emotional and patriotic atmosphere, the speech of Mr. Savvas Kalenderidis, former officer of the Greek Army and the EYP, was held at the Library on Sunday, July 2, on the topic: “Treaty of Lausanne – 100 years later. Its implementation and the revision of Turkey”.
Mr. Kalenderidis spoke about Turkey’s continuous violations and non-compliance with the Treaty, about articles concerning Greek-Turkish relations, the territorial issue, but also issues of key importance, such as the genocide of the Armenians and Pontians and the annihilation of every Greek Christian element from Asia Minor, while he also referred to the fact that none of these crimes ever ended up being examined by an international court. He also spoke about the war in Ukraine and the incidents in French territory, while he also mentioned the upcoming NATO Summit.
At the end of his speech, Mr. Kalenderidis talked to the attendees about current issues, answered questions and donated his books, while he also referred to the commemorative events of the Black Club of Athens for the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne.
Many thanks to Mr. Kalenderidis for his presence at the Library.
