On Tuesday, December 8, an online event was held on the history of writing and the timelessness of Mary Shelley’s classic masterpiece “Frankenstein”. The presenter of the event was Maria Schoina, Associate Professor of the Department of English Language and Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in English Romanticism and Gothic literature.

2018 marked the 200th anniversary of the writing of the landmark book, which continues to enchant the reading public. Initially, Ms. Schoina referred to the pioneering creator, the excellent narrative structure and the prophetic style of the work. Afterwards, a short video was shown on the influence of “Frankenstein” on popular culture. Finally, Ms. Schoina talked to the audience, answered the questions of the participants and urged the student audience to study the work.

We thank Ms. Schoina for accepting our invitation and look forward to a live meeting with her.
