Τhe teleconference that took place on the afternoon of Sunday April 26 was etremely constructive, on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on public safety and the necessary geopolitical treatment. The teleconference was addressed by Mr. Apostolos Eliopoulos, Vice Chairmanof the KDK, Director of Emergency Planning at the Permit and Inspection Service in Philadelphia (PA) and Adjunct Professor at Stratford and IGlobal Universities. He has also served as Director General of Informatics at the Metropolitan Police of Washington (DC) and the Police of Philadelphia (PA).
Mr. Eliopoulos, after a brief analysis of the genetic profile of the virus and its importance in the spread of the disease, continued with the economic and social impact of the pandemic worldwide. He highlighted current issues such as security and privacy and stressed the need for research and innovation in education. He stressed the importance of joint action by all countries to address the common risk based on group benefit. He answered honestly and clearly the numerous questions posed by the participants, covering a wide range of issues and concerns, regarding the current socio-economic situation in our country, but also in the United States where he lives and works.
The teleconference was attended by the President and visionary of the Library, Mrs. Katerina-Diana Demoula-Merriam, as well as individuals not only from Thessaly, but from various parts of Greece.
