On the morning of Friday, July 24, 2020, the workshop “A boat travels …!” in the village of Kastania, Kalambaka took place.

The theme of the workshop was inspired by the mythical ship Argo and of course the adventures of the Argonauts. Our little friends learned about Jason’s luck, the difficulties he encountered and the mythical creatures he fought with until he completed his mission and brought back to Iolkos the Golden Fleece. They learned about the aquifers of Aegina, a celebration whose roots go back to the Argonaut expedition, where the Argonauts stopped before continuing their journey to Colchis, to the island of Anafi named after the “bright” god Apollo who suddenly appeared to help the voyage of Argos and the island of Thira which was originally named “Kallisti” by the Argonauts and emerged when Eufimos threw his shell into the sea.

Then the children made their own boat usng simple materials and with the help of their imagination they wrote a story with the adventures they imagine their boat will encounter in the Cyclades islands!

Finally, they told the stories they came up with to their friends and parents who gathered to listen to them.
