In the thematic workshop held on Monday, March 21, our young readers learned why March 25 has a double meaning for Greeks and what it symbolizes. Initially, the children learned that the feast of March 25 is religious, because we celebrate the Annunciation of the Virgin, that is, the joyful news from the Archangel Gabriel about the birth of Jesus Christ, and national because this day marks the beginning of the Greek revolution of 1821 .
Then, through online games, the children got to know the heroes and heroines of the Revolution, the traditional Greek costumes and of course the Greek flag and its symbolism. Finally, our little friends had fun playing 1821 games, such as the handkerchief.
