On Friday, January 27, we had the pleasure of welcoming the students of Ambelia Primary School to the Library. The students were given a tour around the premises of the Library and were informed about its services and how the borrowing department works. They also learned about the Decimal Classification System, according to which the Library’s collection is organized, followed by a discussion about their favorite books and whether they would like to pursue a career as a Librarian.
Then, they got to know the ancient ceramics and traveled to the Cycladic Culture through the Museum Collections of the Museum of Cycladic Art that the Library holds in it’s collection. Afterwards, a demonstration of 3D scanning and printing took place, where the students were informed about the capabilities of this equipment. Then, with the WeDo 2.0 educational package, they built their own robots and got to know the world of robotics and programming.
Finally, they wrote the impressions that the visit to the Library gave them and what they liked the most!
Many thanks to Ambelia Primary School for the visit and cooperation. We expect them again soon!
