On Monday morning we had the pleasure to host in the Library the students of the 3rd Grade of the 4th Elementary School of Kalambaka on the occasion of the student painting competition organized by the Law Library and the Museum of Greek Children’s Art. The subject of the competition is Caryatid’s dream, which is in the British Museum and she dreams of returning to find her sisters from the Erechtheion in the new Acropolis Museum. The students, on the occasion of the book by the author Vangelis Iliopoulos “In the evenings I dream that I am at home” and with the help of audiovisual material, expressed in their own unique way the desire of the Caryatid to return to her homeland.
Children from all over Greece, but also from Greek schools abroad, combine their creativity and imagination to collect 3,191 paintings, as many as the kilometers that separate the British Museum from the Acropolis Museum.
Let’s hope the childish “magic thought” makes the Caryatid ‘s dream come true!
