On Monday, February 20, we had the pleasure of hosting our little friends of the 5th Grade of the Kalambaka 1st Primary School at the Library. The students were given a tour of all three levels of the Library, got to know the collection and how it works and were informed about the workshops that take place, showing a particular interest in the robotics programs.
Then there was a discussion about their favorite books and their reading preferences, while they got familiar with the profession of librarian.
One of the Library’s core services is its electronic catalog (OPAC) and it is important for students to learn to use it. So they did searches with keywords, checked the results and the subject categories, by which the books are organized. At the same time, they also introduce themselves into the Dewey classification system, finding specific titles o0f books on the Library’s shelves.
We thank the 1st Primary School for the cooperation and wish everyone a happy Carnival period!
