Today we had the pleasure to host in the Library students of the Vocational High School of Kalampaka, accompanied by their teachers. The purpose of the visit was the contact of the students with the technological equipment of 3D scanning and printing that the Library has.
During the visit, the benefits and disadvantages of 3D technology, the object scanning process, the capabilities of the 3D printer, and the printing materials were mentioned. The students, with the help of the trained staff, performed experiments with the 3D scanner, saw the imprint of the object on the computer screen, got acquainted with the processing stages of digital models and the capabilities of the software. Next, they watched the 3D format print on the 3D printer using the continuous horizontal layer technique as the final shape of the object.
The technological equipment of the Library is at the disposal of the educational units in order to connect the student community with the advanced technology.
