On Wednesday, September 30, a workshop was held in collaboration with the UTech Lab of the Eugenides Foundation, with the aim of creating voice applications.
The students connected via Webex with the IT Manager of UTech Lab, Mr. Spyros Kalamakis, who introduced the students who were watching remotely from the Library, to the philosophy of virtual assistants.
Under his guidance, they created a micro-application of voice interaction with the intention to carry out a superhero search, similar to virtual assistants such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
Initially, the application flow was designed using nodes and links through the Voiceflow platform and then defined commands, variables and if statements.
At the end of the workshop, the students performed multiple tests and requests, through which they learned the basic principles of creating voice applications.
