The Library will have the pleasure to welcome on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 8:30 a.m., a group of educators from the United States.
“The Examined Life: Greek Studies in the Schools” is an educational nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing to life the rich history, culture, and heritage of Greece for students and educators in the United States.
For more than two decades, they have been connecting students with Greek ideals of democracy, the literary treasures of Homer, and the enchanting world of Greek mythology.
The organization offers a university graduate program and a fully immersive Study Program in Greece.
Through talks, readings, discussions, and study tours in Greece, “The Examined Life: Greek Studies in the Schools” serves as a platform where educators, librarians, museum specialists, authors, illustrators, publishers, editors, and all those working with young people come together to explore concepts such as democracy, the obligations of citizenship, and the power of moral imagination, which are essential for the survival of a humane global community. Then, what is learned is applied back into the educational spaces with learners of all ages, aiming to enrich their education and lives with these ideas.
