Visit of the 6th grade of the 1st Kalambaka Primary School

The 6th grade students of the 1st Kalambaka Primary School will visit the Library on Wednesday 10/4/2024 at 10:00 in the morning as part of their project which concerns 3D scanning and printing.

The students have already visited the Library twice where an introduction to 3D technology was given. First, they learned to use the 3D scanner and scan an object collecting information about its shape and color to digitize it and create an editable 3D model file in an electronic computer.

In the second meeting, the students processed with the appropriate software the digital files of the object scans that they had created and designed the final 3D model.

In the third and final session the 3D printing, which is an additive manufacturing method in which objects are made by successively adding layers of material will be carried out. Students will print their 3D model as the end result of their endeavour.
