On Thursday, July 8, at 8 pm, beloved author Yiannis Kalpouzos will visit the Library to present his book Ragias, Meres kai Nichtes 1821 [Slave, Days and Nights 1821] and to discuss with the public. The event will take place in the courtyard of the Library following the necessary distancing measures.
A summary of the book:
1816-1829. Patras, Tripolitsa, Nafplio, Messolonghi… After Angelis was imprisoned in Sahin Aga’s henhouse, hatred nestled in his soul like a medicinal snake.During his explosive and at the same time seductive course, he enters the work of a twisted and stingy shopkeeper, who sells you a candlelight vault. He is surrounded by the leaden cloud of slavery and the humiliation of the rays. It mixes with the Cherry tree, where dreams dive and swim in its face. He responds with Kotzabasids, colligs and comrades-in-arms, who are more than brothers and wife at the time of the battle, while a terrified Turkopoulos is hooked on him.On his way, two elders, who are looking for the motivation for everything but the sweet and medicinal substance of the “I”, the planet Aspasia, devilish strangers, local adventurers, the thirty-six-year-old speechless Symeon, a horseman who saves His captives and the greatest enemy of the free man, fear.Aggelis experiences the greatness and the dark side of the painted Eikosiena, breaking down myths and revealing registered truths. He embraces the fire of the uprising, transforms the savagery into hope, redemption and sweetness, and shouts: “I want not to be a rage to anyone. Rayas to nothing! ” We thank Psychogios Publications for the continuous cooperation.
